Sailing The Amalfi Coast Luxury Yacht

Discover The Amalfi Coast On A Luxury Yacht

Have you dreamt of renting a yacht to explore the Amalfi Coast? Well your dream can become a reality with a little planning and the right company. After asking every possible question prior to booking our yacht I decided to share our experience. Can we self-drive a boat without a license? Where can we sail? How many people can we fit on a yacht? What boats can you charter?

I contacted Amalfi Charters after seeing a post on Instagram and dealt directly with the owner, Alfonso Imperato who also happens to be a skipper. Several emails later, and I mean there were lots, up until 10pm the night before our day at sea. We changed times, boat, destinations and pick up locations along the way. Despite all this, Alfonso answered all our questions almost immediately and accommodated all our requests. I’m sure he uttered a few Italian swear words every time he saw an email from me… Keep reading to find out how to discover the Amalfi coast on a luxury yacht with an experienced crew.

Excursions Available Through Amalfi Charters

The Amalfi Coast is packed with beautiful beaches, villages, grottos, islands and much more. Tour the coast, head to the Saracen beach, the marine village of Conca dei Marini, the Emerald grotto, the Li Galli Islands, Positano, Capri and/or Nerano. Stop for lunch at one of the many cliffside restaurant like Il Riccio in Anacapri. Head out on a fishing trip with the "lampare", local fishing boats with lights. For a little romance take a boat ride under the moonlight or if you are looking for something a little more adventurous there is nautical skiing. Simply ask Alfonso and he is likely to make it happen! For more on the available excursions you can check out the website.

Fleet And Crew

Did you know you can rent a boat without a license and without a captain? Amalfi Charters offers two boats in their fleet for rental without a captain. There are several other larger yachts that can sleep 3 to 12 people. We decided to book the Alfamarine 47 which has two comfortable double cabins with private bathroom. The yacht is air conditioned, has two fridges, a double kitchen corner, TV, WIFI and large sundecks. Our captain Raffaele and his mate Salvatore were extremely accommodating. We couldn’t make up our minds on where to eat but Raffaele remained gracious and flexed to our ever-changing plans. He probably also muttered a few Italian swear words at us…

Amalfi Charters Reservations

Amalfi Charter’s website is very user friendly. Simply select a boat from their fleet reservation link or an excursion from the tour reservation link. Lastly, complete the questionnaire, ask whatever questions you might have and someone will contact you to confirm your reservation! That easy!

There you have it! If you are looking to get the most out of the Amalfi Coast a chartered boat is the best option. You’ll get to see more and access hidden gems that can only be seen by boat. Amalfi Charters has a wide variety of boats to choose from and their service is noteworthy.
